Brewhouse

Fugen has begun the initial renovation works for the Brewhouse at Marayong. This includes the demolition of the entire northern toilet block and installation of new bathroom layout including new tiling, lighting, ventilation, cubicles & urinals. This work will lead into the larger project of the entire renovation of the hotel.

St George Hospital Delivery Suites & Theatre Fitout

Fugen are undertaking a refurbishment project on Level 2 at St George Hospital, building 8 new Birthing Suites and 4 new Operating Theatres. The project is design and construct, which presents challenges with working alongside existing services and infrastructure. The Birthing Suites will all include new baths to facilitate water births, among other features to make them all-purpose for birthing and new-born care. The refurbishment will also include a number of new facilities to assist the medical staff in their day to day tasks. The 4 operating theatres will also be subject to complete demolition and re-fit and service upgrades, particularly with mechanical services. New pendants and lighting will be fitted to all the new theatres. The design for the theatres is still being finalised and we will provide this section on the theatres once the design is complete.

Calvary Kogarah

Fugen are currently completing a small refurbishment at Calvary Healthcare Kogarah. The project includes the refurbishment of 4 station stations and 2 EMED storage areas. The project has been separated into 2 stages to accommodate the live environment of the hospital, patients and staff during these renovations. The current staff stations have been demolished and will include a brand new fit out of joinery, lighting and painting to existing walls. The new stations are designed to create more space for staff and to provide a more modern look for the hospital.

Yaffa Media Rooftop


Yaffa Media is one of Australia’s largest independent media companies and has remained an independent operation despite significant growth and diversification over the past 90 years. When they needed a modern and functional high rise entertainment  area including a new timber deck, glazed partition and windows, operable pergola, masonry planter boxes, landscaping and a ground floor refurbishment including a bike enclosure, Yaffa Media turned to Fugen experience and KNOW HOW.

Maroubra Seals Club

Fugen are completing a refurbishment to the existing gaming room at Maroubra Seals Club. The project has been separated into 3 stages to allow 2/3 of the gaming room to be operational at all times. This adds a level of complexity to the project including the demolition, electrical rough-in and poker machine changeovers which needs to be completed 3 times. The new gaming room includes: New larger gaming bar Large outdoor gaming terrace with 60 machines Raised and secluded lounge area with timber flooring High ceiling throughout indoor gaming which will include 87 machines Curved walls and stonini 3D wall panelling New floor and wall finishes 5 custom aluminium lattice sections which will hang as a feature throughout the gaming room

Marist Brothers Head Office – 2019

The Marist Brothers Institute celebrated a very proud Bicentenary in 2017. Therefore, it was very appropriate that following these celebrations Marist Australia now celebrate a new Sydney Marist Centre at 247 Coward Street thanks to Fugen KNOW HOW. Fugen were engaged by Marist Brothers Australia to carry out a full internal fitout of their Level 5 tenancy in Mascot. The works that were carried out over multiple stages included a New Oratory, Reception, kitchen, private offices, open workstations, board and meeting rooms, archive room as well as electrical, fire and mechanical upgrades.

Agincourt Hotel

Fugen were engaged by the Airblade Pty Ltd to carry out works to construct a new Gaming Room at the Agincourt Hotel. The works were carried out outside of normal working hours to minimise disruption to the existing Gaming Room and Bar. The works consisted of:

New Electrical, Fire and Mechanical

New Louvred Ventilation

Finishes included joinery items, painting and new carpet throughout.

Market City Tavern


PROJECT OVERVIEW: Nestled above Sydney’s famous Paddy’s Markets, Market City Tavern offers 3 levels of entertainment in the heart of Chinatown. Fugen was engaged to refurbish the level 1 bar, wagering lounge with TAB and KENO facilities, bathrooms, dining section and alfresco balcony area. The comprehensive refurbishment included Bar, Beer Lines and Taps, large unisex bathrooms, office and store area, cool room with vision panel, tiling, wine display cabinetry and bespoke seating booths.

CHALLENGES: The comprehensive refurbishment occurred at a very busy venue and area that making it logistically difficult with surrounding accessibility for tradesmen and machinery. Throughout construction works Market City Tavern continued operating the entire time.

THE SOLUTION: Good communication underpins all that Fugen does. By staging weekly client consultations and carefully coordinating the construction stages, Market City Tavern remained fully operational for the duration of the project and meant there was no disruptions. Popular with the locals, Market City Tavern now boasts a brighter and more contemporary design setting a new benchmark with a variety of high quality finishes, tile finishes, joinery, tapware, feature partitions, flooring and magnificent alfresco area.

Angelo’s Cabarita

Fugen has made some significant changes to Angelo’s Cabarita including its bayside dining, kitchen and bar, plus function venue. Bringing it into the modern age Fugen brightened up the 140-seated federation-style cottage by making full use of the panoramic views over the nearby parklands and Sydney city. In doing so, Fugen created a space that perfectly facilitates long lunches and romantic dinners.

Angelo’s Cabrita website now boasts inspiration by Sydney’s beautiful foreshore and pays homage to the restaurant’s strong Italian ties offering a new contemporary dining facilities and atmosphere featuring a terrazzo marble bar, natural oak floors, bespoke lighting and a private dining room.

Taren Point Hotel

The Taren Point Hotel was redesigned with the aim to provide a “heap of fun” to its patrons and now includes a new bistro, lounge bar, beer garden and family-friendly lane-way with a food truck and two children’s play areas.  A revamped sports bar, TAB and sports terrace were initially opened as stage one of the upgrade.

Taren Point Hotel is the oldest of the Feros Group’s venues but with a Fugen Renovation covering new finishes, a new outdoor public area, complete strip out and reconstruction of existing commercial kitchen, new high end gaming room and refurbishment of the outdoor dining area, its now their freshest and newest venue.

As part of council requirements, Fugen upgraded the hotel to comply with the latest external carpark codes and flood study works.
