The HUB Hyde Park – 223 Liverpool Street
PROJECT OVERVIEW: Fugen Constructions was engaged to undertake works spanning 5 levels of a heritage commercial building namely HUB Hyde Park. Whilst undertaking the base build construction works, Fugen was subsequently engaged by the client on behalf of the Tenant HUB Australia to fitout all 5 floors to create a contemporary shared office space.
CHALLENGES: During the 10-month construction, various challenges arose pertaining to the existing heritage structure including extensive remediation required to the façade and structural components. Furthermore, the large octagonal heritage columns throughout the building resulted in design and aesthetic modifications to the structural steel.
SOLUTION: All challenges were overcome and Fugen successfully delivered this project on time. Fugen expertly worked with the client to establish the construction and fitout requirements. They worked with structural and architectural design changes as a result of existing site conditions and heritage requirements, as well as formulate a multistage testing and commissioning process ensuring all services were working correctly.
OUTCOME: Hub Hyde Park – 223 Liverpool St required extensive design coordination and problem solving to successfully deliver the project. As a result, Hub Hyde Park is one of Sydney’s largest co-working spaces, with all-inclusive amenities in a beautifully restored heritage building over 5 levels.
