Tzannes Architects Head Office
PROJECT OVERVIEW: Fugen Constructions was entrusted by leading Sydney architects Tzannes to complete a 10-week refurbishment of a new 60-staff capacity office tenancy. Given the need for Tzannes to bring clients into their offices for meetings, in which first impressions matter, quality of finishes, design and style of the refurbishment was of utmost importance. Fugen was also contracted to facilitate the relocation of Tzannes from Chippendale to Surry Hills.
CHALLENGES: Fugen was required to complete the project on a design and construct basis and being a fast-paced architectural firm could not lose any working hours. Part of Fugen’s scope of works was to restore and repair the existing parquetry timber floor that was glued to the timber floor below. Fugen was also charged with relocating Tzannes from their original Chippendale based office.
SOLUTION: Fugen’s pre-planning and client communication ensured the project was successfully delivered on time and within budget. This meant that a number of coordination meetings were required to collaborate with the architects in finding alternative finishes including joinery materials, extent of painting to the walls, ductwork specification and timber flooring. The timber flooring contractor spent over two weeks infilling, patching, bogging and repairing the original timber floor setting a new benchmark in restoration of heritage timber flooring.
OUTCOME: At project completion Tzannes could not have been any happier by the revitalised and refurbished office suite including 3 meeting rooms, a kitchenette, reception areas, data room, kitchen, model making rooms, printing areas and open desk seating arrangement. Fugen exceeded the client’s expectations with daily design services, logistical coordination meetings, constant communication and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
