Fugen Constructions is delivering a staged refurbishment of The Oaks Hotel, a historic hotel located in the heart of The Oaks town. Originally established in 1863 as a weigh station for travellers, the hotel has evolved into a much-loved community destination, serving locals and visitors for more than 160 years.

The refurbishment is improving the hotel’s functionality, accessibility, compliance and guest experience while ensuring it remains operational throughout construction.

Previous works included the refurbishment of the existing Public Bar, construction of a new Gaming Room, upgrades to the northern courtyard and landscaping, a new commercial kitchen, upgraded amenities, car park resurfacing, new accessible parking spaces and extensive fire-rating upgrades.

Following the successful completion of earlier stages, Fugen is delivering a further phase of works that will continue to strengthen the venue’s hospitality offering and support its long-term success.

Delivering the refurbishment within a fully operational hotel requires careful staging, detailed planning and close stakeholder coordination. This approach has enabled the venue to remain open throughout construction, including the successful delivery of a temporary gaming room to support ongoing operations with minimal disruption.
